Temporary Relocation of Paul A. Fisher PS

Feb. 20, 2025

Dear Paul A. Fisher PS families,

We are pleased to share that our school will be undergoing major interior renovations to enhance our school environment and address important facility upgrades. These improvements will revitalize our learning spaces and amenities to specifically enhance learning conditions and ensure the long-term sustainability of our facilities.

This involves upgrading the original open-concept design of the school, space and amenities to support new partition walls, ceilings, doors, electrical power and LED lighting, fire systems and separations and barrier-free accessibility as well as mechanical modifications and HVAC system upgrades. The work will also include relocation of the main office to improve site lines and safety, relocation of the health room and creation of a new community classroom with associated kitchen, sensory room and seminar spaces.

While these upgrades are great news for our school, we recognize the challenges the renovation work will bring. To ensure renovations are completed within a year, rather than stretching over three to four years with ongoing disruptions, Paul A. Fisher PS staff and students will be temporarily relocated for the 2025-2026 school year. This temporary relocation will help maintain a positive learning environment throughout the renovation process.

After evaluating available spaces, the Halton District School Board has approved the temporary relocation to the property that previously housed Lester B. Pearson High School at 1433 Headon Rd. This facility will be used exclusively by students and staff from Paul A. Fisher PS during the renovation period. Over the coming weeks and months, we will work diligently to prepare the space for our school community.

We understand that this transition will impact students, families and staff, and we are committed to supporting everyone throughout the process to ensure a smooth transition and minimized disruption. All students will receive school bus transportation to Lester B. Pearson HS and bell times will remain the same.

We are committed to answering all your questions and providing information throughout this process. An information session will be scheduled in the coming weeks to provide additional details about timelines, transportation and logistics.

We appreciate your support, patience and partnership as we navigate these changes together to create an enhanced learning space that will meet the current and future needs of Paul A. Fisher PS and support student success for years to come.

Sincerely,

Cameron Dalgleish Aiman Flahat

Principal Superintendent of Education
